Intimate Surgery: Cosmetic and Functional Genital Procedures

Intimate surgery (intimate aesthetics) encompasses a range of cosmetic and functional surgical procedures for the genital area. Motivations include aesthetic concerns, functional discomfort, post-childbirth changes, or age-related changes. All procedures are strictly elective and should be approached with thorough medical consultation.

Female Intimate Surgery

Labiaplasty (Labia Minora Reduction)

The most common intimate surgery procedure. Reduces elongated or asymmetric labia minora causing discomfort during exercise, sexual activity or with clothing. Techniques: trim method (direct excision of excess) or wedge method (V-shaped excision preserving natural edge). Recovery: 2–4 weeks restricted activity.

Vaginoplasty (Vaginal Tightening)

Surgical tightening of the vaginal canal and perineum, often after childbirth. Addresses functional laxity. Not a replacement for pelvic floor physiotherapy.

Clitoral Hood Reduction (Hoodoplasty)

Reduction of excess prepuce tissue. Often performed alongside labiaplasty.

Labia Majora Augmentation

Filler injections or fat transfer to restore volume to deflated labia majora after weight loss or with ageing.

Male Intimate Procedures

See the separate article on penis enlargement (penisvergrößerung) for details on male genital augmentation.
