Morpheus8: Fractional Radiofrequency Microneedling
Overview: Morpheus8 by InMode
Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency microneedling device from InMode, combining microneedling (mechanical skin penetration) with radiofrequency energy delivery into the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. FDA-cleared and CE-certified, Morpheus8 can treat both the face and body, penetrating to a depth of up to 8 mm — deeper than most RF microneedling devices — enabling treatment of the superficial fat layer in addition to the dermis.
Fractional RF Microneedling Technology
Morpheus8 uses an array of 24 gold-coated microneedles that penetrate the skin to precise depths (1 to 8 mm selectable). At the tip of each needle, radiofrequency energy is delivered into the tissue, creating zones of thermal coagulation at the target depth. The controlled thermal injury stimulates collagen neogenesis (neocollagenesis) and fat remodeling. The Burst technology allows multiple energy pulses through a single needle insertion, treating multiple depths in one pass.
Indications
Face: wrinkles, skin laxity, acne scars, large pores, skin texture improvement. Neck and décolleté: skin tightening and texture improvement. Body: abdominal skin laxity, arm laxity (brachioplasty alternative), inner thighs. Hyperhidrosis (axillary treatment at specific depth). Suitable for all skin types including darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick I-VI) due to lack of chromophore dependency.
Treatment Protocol
Topical anesthesia 30 to 60 minutes before. Treatment duration 20 to 60 minutes depending on area. 1 to 3 sessions at 4 to 6-week intervals. Recovery: 1 to 5 days (pinpoint bleeding, redness, swelling). Results develop over 3 to 6 months.
Costs
Face: €500 to €1,200 per session. Body areas: €600 to €1,500. Package (3 sessions): €1,200 to €3,500. Not covered by health insurance.
