Temple Lift: Brow and Lateral Eye Rejuvenation

A temple lift (also called a lateral brow lift, temporal lift or mini-brow lift) is a focused surgical procedure that elevates the outer (lateral) portion of the eyebrow and tightens the skin of the temple region. It rejuvenates the crow's feet area, creates a slight cat-eye effect and opens the outer corner of the eye.

Indications

  • Drooping outer brow causing heavy, tired appearance
  • Deep crow's feet that do not respond to botulinum toxin alone
  • Desire for a subtle lateral eye lift without a full brow lift
  • Complement to blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)

Technique

A small incision (3–5 cm) is made within the temporal hairline. The temporal fascia (SMAS extension) is elevated and the skin is re-draped upward and laterally. The lateral brow is repositioned at a higher level. The incision is closed within the hairline — scar is invisible.

Results

Natural-looking lateral brow elevation. The "cat-eye" or "fox-eye" effect is subtle when performed correctly. Results are long-lasting — typically 5–10 years.

Recovery

Swelling and bruising: 1–2 weeks. Back to work: 1–2 weeks. Final result: 3–6 months.
