RF Microneedling: Radiofrequency Microneedling for Skin Tightening

RF microneedling combines the collagen-inducing effects of traditional microneedling with the thermal energy of radiofrequency (RF) waves. Fine needles penetrate the skin to the desired depth and deliver RF energy directly into the dermis, creating controlled thermal injury that triggers robust collagen and elastin production.

How It Works

  1. Fine needles (up to 3.5 mm) penetrate the skin surface
  2. RF energy is emitted at the needle tips within the dermis
  3. Thermal damage at 60–70°C triggers wound healing cascade
  4. New collagen and elastin fibers form over 3–6 months

Because energy is delivered below the skin surface, the epidermis remains largely intact — lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) compared to ablative lasers.

Indications

  • Skin laxity (face, neck, jawline, body)
  • Acne scars and rolling scars
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Hyperhidrosis (with specific protocols)
  • Morpheus8 (InMode): up to 4 mm depth, body mode available
  • Profound (Syneron-Candela): measures skin impedance for precise delivery
  • Vivace: combines RF with LED light therapy
  • Genius (Lutronic): real-time impedance monitoring

Treatment Protocol

Typically 1–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Results develop progressively over 3–6 months after the final session.

Costs

TreatmentCost per session
RF microneedling (face)€600–€1,200
RF microneedling (face + neck)€900–€1,800
Body areas€400–€900 per zone

Downtime

Redness and mild swelling for 24–72 hours. Pinpoint bleeding possible immediately after. Social downtime: 1–3 days. Avoid sun exposure for at least 1 week.
