Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What makes Motiva Ergonomix® special?

Motiva Ergonomix® changes its shape depending on body position: when standing, it appears oval and natural; when lying down, it becomes rounder. This dynamic adaptation mimics the behaviour of natural breast tissue and delivers exceptionally realistic results.

What is the Q Inside Safety Technology™ chip?

Every Motiva implant contains an embedded micro-RFID transponder. This enables unique digital identification of the implant without X-rays or invasive procedures — important during check-ups or for a later implant exchange.

How long do Motiva implants last?

Motiva offers a lifetime warranty against rupture. Regular check-ups remain important. Many patients keep their implants for 15–20 years without problems.

What makes Motiva implants special?

Motiva Implants (Establishment Labs) differ through: TrueMonobloc technology (no seam between shell and gel), ProgressiveGel ULTIMA filling (moves naturally), NanoSurface texture (reduces capsular contracture risk), BlueQ RFID chip (unique identification of each implant via smartphone app).

Are there clinical data on Motiva?

Motiva presents clinical data with a rupture rate of 0.3–0.7% after 5 years (below industry average) and a capsular contracture rate Baker III/IV of 1.2–2.1%. Long-term data (10+ years) are not yet as extensive as for established manufacturers such as Mentor or Allergan. FDA Premarket Approval is in progress.

Where are Motiva implants manufactured?

Motiva implants are manufactured in Costa Rica (Establishment Labs main plant) and in Switzerland. CE certification is in place; FDA approval in the USA is still pending (as of 2025). Used in over 70 countries worldwide.
