Motiva Implants: Ergonomix Technology and NanoSurface

Motiva Implants (by Establishment Labs, Costa Rica) are a technologically advanced line of silicone breast implants known for their innovative features: Ergonomix technology (a round implant that behaves like an anatomical tear-drop shape), NanoSurface (nano-textured surface with very low roughness), and BluSeal (a blue-tinted barrier layer that indicates intact outer shell integrity).

Key Technologies

Ergonomix

A round implant that changes shape with body position — standing, it appears more natural and drop-shaped due to gravity; lying down, it distributes more evenly. Combines the natural look of anatomical implants with the rotation safety of round implants.

NanoSurface

An extremely smooth nano-textured surface (Ra < 4 µm) that is intermediate between smooth and micro-textured. Designed to reduce capsular contracture rates while minimising the textured-surface BIA-ALCL risk associated with macro-textured implants.

BluSeal

A thin blue-tinted outer layer that becomes visible if the shell is compromised — acts as a visual integrity check during surgery and explanation.
